HOWARD CHALMERS
Howard Chalmers has been in demand as a charity auctioneer for more than 30 years and is responsible for helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profit organizations throughout Central Texas and beyond.
His career as an auctioneer began in the mid-60s as on-air talent for KLRN (now KLRU-TV), Central Texas' public television station. That experience led to many requests for his quick wit and glib patter from dozens of organizations, including museums, arts organizations, medical charities and others. Chalmers has been involved with the Rare & Fine Wine Auction of The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas since its inception.
DOYLE M. FELLERS
A past President of The Wine & Food Foundation, Doyle M. Fellers has been an auctioneer for more than 20 years for the Austin Museum of Art, the Austin Lyric Opera, the Symphony and a host of other charities. A natural salesperson, he was the owner of a major marketing and advertising firm with offices across the Southwest for more than 30 years.
Currently holding numerous board positions including those for corporations and charities, Fellers is retired and lives on his ranch in Dripping Springs where he tends his longhorns, visits his grandsons and writes poetry. He has also just finished his first book, “The Sporting Breed, Bird Hunters and Bird Dogs.”
GENE FONDREN
A graduate of Del Mar College, the University of Texas School of Business and UT School of Law, Gene Fondren is a former three-term member of the Texas House of Representatives (1963-67). Currently the Director of the Public Television Council, Fondren is also a past president of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association where he served as the Chief Executive Officer from 1972 to 2003. He also serves as an Advisory Board Member of Meals on Wheels and a Director of the Greater Austin Crime Commission.
Throughout his years in Austin, Gene Fondren has earned many outstanding accolades, such as being named the "Central Texas Newsmaker of the Year" by the Texas Senate Investigating Committee and "Executive of the Year" by the Town Lake Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.
MICHAEL HANLEY
After a 16-year career as an Executive with the Boy Scouts of America, Mike Hanley embarked on a new career in the commercial real estate business. Mike has held an Auctioneer License since 2003, after completing his instruction at the Florida Auctioneers Academy. He received a Gavel Award in 2005 from the National Auctioneers Association and was a semi-finalist in the International Auctioneer Competition held in Pittsburg PA in July of 2005. Mike has been a professional fundraiser for 15 years and has raised over $2.3 million for non-profits during that time.
His education began at Saint Stanislaus College in Bay St Louis, Mississippi and he holds a Bachelors Degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.
In addition to his other skills, Mike is a Certified R.O.P.E.S. course facilitator and a skilled public speaker.
