Larry Peel is a nationally recognized builder/developer of multi-family communities in Central Texas, Houston and Dallas. He founded Larry Peel & Co. in 1976 and has since made protection of the environment a priority.
His success has earned him many well-deserved awards and honors, including the prestigious Pillars of the Industry Award for Best Garden Apartment in the United States, and most recently, the 2005 Commercial Real Estate Award for Best Garden Apartment in the city given by the Austin Business Journal.
Larry is the chairman and one of the original founders of The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas as well as the Texas Hill Country Wine & Food Festival. He was a longtime member of the KLRU-TV board, and is currently involved with several local charities and nonprofit organizations. Larry currently resides in Austin with his wife Dr. Deborah Peel, who is the founder of another non-profit, Patient Privacy Rights (www.patientprivacyrights.org).
Larry’s love affair with wine started early and he has too many favorites to list but he always enjoys a good Burgundy.
When asked what his favorite food is, Larry replied, “Mexican.” When asked what he would plan for his last meal, he said, “see above.” You might find him out and about at El Rancho, one of his favorite Mexican restaurants.
