Grant Awards Program
What is the Grant Award Program? The Grant Award Program is one of the most significant ways in which the Foundation carries out its mission of education and excellence in the culinary and viticulture arts. The program was spearheaded in 2005 with the intention of fostering innovative wine and food programs and projects in Texas.
Governed by a special Foundation Committee and voted upon by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, The Grant Award Program is an annual competitive grant program and awards are made in the spring of each year.
This year, up to $30,000.00 is available. This award may be given in full, split into several awards, or not distributed at all, depending on the discretion of the committee and appropriateness of the applications.
Who is eligible? The Grant Award Program is available to individuals, businesses, groups or non-profit organizations. Applicants must reside in Texas. Programs and/or projects must be educational in nature and must be in the realm of wine and/or cuisine.
What is the deadline? Grant applications will be accepted by the Foundation beginning December 1, 2007 through February 15, 2008 (must be postmarked by this time). Grants will be announced no later than May 1, 2008.
How do I apply? Print out the Foundation’s grant application and complete fully. Mail SIX COPIES of the application to the Foundation address, provided on the application. Applicants MUST submit the Foundation application and it must be fully completed for consideration. DO NOT contact the Foundation office. Foundation staff members have no bearing on the scoring of applications and are unable to provide guidance. Applications are evaluated by a special Foundation committee and the Board of Directors.
