2007
Field of Dreams
Summer
and baseball go hand in hand, just like fine wine and cuisine. The
Wine & Food Foundation of Texas and the Round Rock Express
teamed up for a special homerun event combining three great
passions – wine, food and baseball. Guests met more than
twelve top chefs from Austin, Lakeway, Georgetown and Round Rock,
while experiencing an extravaganza of outstanding cuisine.

2007
TEXSOM Grand Tasting Event
This
Grand Tasting was the third annual Texas Sommelier Conference.
The Texas’ Best Sommelier
award was presented at the Grand Tasting event which brought the
two-day event to a close. The statewide competition was determined
through a rigorous three-part examination (tasting, service and theory)
and was limited to 25 Texas candidates. Finalists were evaluated
by a panel of nationally recognized Master Sommeliers.

| 2007
Hot Time in the City |
This
was the fifth annual Texas tasting hosted by the Foundation in
conjunction with its Wine Texas Symposium – a continuing
education program designed for Texas vintners and growers. Over
30 wines were poured from different Texas wineries and several
of Central Texas most accomplished chefs cooked up unique
and extraordinary dishes.

| 2007 Zinfandel Grand Tasting Event |
The
Zinfandel Advocates & Producers (ZAP) is a nationally-known,
non-profit educational association based in Rough & Ready, California
(about two hours outside of Napa). ZAP is dedicated to advancing
public knowledge of and appreciation for American Zinfandel. As part
of its marketing and education program, ZAP selected Austin as
one of three cities for a national tour planned for the spring of2007.
This event was held at the OMNI HOTEL in downtown Austin and guests
tasted some AMAZING wines and enjoyed cuisine from Austin chefs.

| The
22nd Annual Rare & Fine Wine Auction 2007 |
The most unique event hosted by The Foundation each
year is The Rare & Fine Wine Auction. Held at the stunning
Four Seasons Hotel, the auction attracts wine enthusiasts throughout
the state who are eager to bid on over 300 auction lots, such as
wines from private cellars, dinners, trips and items from around
the world.

| Women
of Bordeaux 2007 |
Guest
enjoyed a spectacular seated dinner as part of a national tour
by five dynamic women vineyard owners and winemakers from Bordeaux,
who were on-site to discuss the changes taking place in the
global wine industry.
Guests also had the opportunity to visit with local sommeliers
James Tidwell, Drew Hendricks and Devon Broglie, 2006 winner of
The Texas Sommelier Association’s “Texas’ Best
Sommelier” competition.
This exclusive tour is visited only five cities in the U.S., with
the opportunity to converse with these talented women and sommeliers.

Reds & Bubbles November
2006 |
Held
in the holiday splendor of the Driskill Hotel, the
evening showcased signature dishes from the city’s top
chefs and more than 50 ‘big reds’, sparkling wines
and champagnes. Guests also enjoyed a spectacular auction where
holiday shoppers found rare and fine wines and other unique gifts.

in the beautiful United Heritage Center overlooking the starlit
Round Rock Express ballpark, ten different chefs created
unique and flavorful dishes paired with fine wines and
champagne from Pommery, Kunde Estates Winery and Vineyards and
Artesa. A fun and unique silent auction and even a walk out on
the field for a special tasting.

Guest
wined & dined under the stars
at Tour de Vin – an international wine and food tasting
Thursday, October 5th from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on the rooftop
of Whole Foods Market at 6th and Lamar. Rated a “Top
Ten Wine Event in Austin” last year by the Austin Chronicle,
Tour de Vin was an evening not to be missed. Guest
also tasted rare and fine wines from around the world and sample
international dishes from some of Austin’s top chefs.

The
21st Annual Wine & Food Foundation of Texas
April
8, 2006 |

Now
one of the largest and most prestigious wine auctions in the Southwest,
the Rare & Fine Wine Auction has raised more than $1.5 million
to date. Guests were treated to a champagne reception upon arrival
in addition to a complimentary tequila bar. Wine was served by
guest sommeliers
from the Four Seasons Hotel and Pappas Brothers in Dallas, Whole Foods
Market, Mirabelle and Prestige, all in Austin. A stunning buffet was
served by Executive Chef Elmar Prambs of the Four Seasons Hotel, Austin.station

Symposium June
2005

This was an
exceptional
opportunity for vintners and growers to partake in a one-day,
intensive study with winemaker BARRY BERGMAN from R.H. PHILLIPS WINERY. Barry
has been the head winemaker at R.H. Phillips since 1994. He has collaborated
in Italy, France, Portugal, Canada, Australia, and France, developing innovative
winemaking techniques. Barry is also the president of the Rhone Rangers,
a non-profit organization to promote wines made from Rhone
varieties grown in the U.S. |

Talbott Chardonnay (Monterey), 2002 Bel Glos "Clark & Telephone
Vineyard" Pinot Noir (Napa) and Taittinger champagne. Russell
Korman and Breitling U.S.A. presented the Foundation with a donation
