Women of Bordeaux
Wine Dinner
Benefiting the 2007 Texas Sommelier Conference
Enjoy
a spectacular seated dinner as part of a national tour by five
dynamic women vineyard owners and winemakers from Bordeaux, who
will be on-site to discuss the changes taking place in the global
wine industry. A mini-vertical of their wines will be presented
alongside a multi-course dinner from local celebrity chefs such
as Jamie Powell of Whole Foods Market and Alma Alcocer-Thomas
from Jeffrey’s. Guests will have the opportunity to visit
with local sommeliers James Tidwell, Drew Hendricks and Devon
Broglie, 2006 winner of The Texas Sommelier Association’s “Texas’ Best
Sommelier” competition. This exclusive tour is visiting

evening of fine wining, dining and short auction helps to fund

Mirabelle
Restaurant
Since its opening in November of 1998, Mirabelle Restaurant has
been a comfortable, fine dining spot with the understated Austin
feel of a neighborhood restaurant. It also happens to be seriously obsessed
with great food and wine. Although pursuing flavors from many
cuisines, Mirabelle has a Provencal culinary instinct, offering
full-flavored food that is intensified at every opportunity
in its preparation. The other unique motivation behind Mirabelle’s
cuisine is to create dishes that are inspired from wine. Mirabelle

about the professional standards and certifications for sommeliers.
The organization sponsors the “Texas’ Best Sommelier” competition
with the winner being awarded scholarships for professional
certification courses.
